Shigaraki Chawan by Tsuji Seimei
Tsuji Seimei(1927-2008) was a ceramic artist who walked with the gods; his work is pure Japanese aesthetics; more about this extremely important potter can be read at e-yakimono.net and he also had a large retrospective exhibition in Tokyo recently at The National Museum of Modern Art, Crafts Gallery, Tokyo. (http://www.momat.go.jp/archives/english/cg/exhibition/tsuji_2017/index.htm). Here is a Tsuji Shigaraki chawan with a ‘quiet’ firing in line with his akaru-sabi approach. In perfect condition, signed on side, yet no box thus the lower price here. Robert will sign an authentication paper if desired, also a box can be made and signed by Robert, that would cost 12,000 yen extra.
