Three Meiji Period Bizen Figures
Our gallery has always been a fan of saikumono or figures, especially those from Bizen. When choosing saikumono it’s important to pay attention to details and especially the clarity of the face; the three here all beam. The largest is Daruma (25.5cm.tall), followed by Jurojin(the God of Longevity, 19.5cm.tall) and then sitting Ebisu( God of Fishermen and merchants, often depicted carrying a sea bream as seen here, 14.5cm.tall). All are in perfect condition, Daruma is On Reserve, Jurojin is On Reserve and Ebisu is Sold.
