Three Mino Sculptured ‘Vases’ by Higuchi Masayuki
This trio was made by Mino favorite Higuchi Masayuki who was born in Tajimi in 1967 and studied ceramics at the Tajimi Vocational High School and then sculpture at the Nagoya University of Art before apprenticing to Bizen LNT Yamamoto Toshu for five years. His work has been shown here in many juried exhibitions and at private galleries; a rare Mino potter who still fires in an anagama. The left iron-splashed work is 26.5cm.tallx13cm.x10cm and is 80,000 yen; the rusty red Shino is 27.5cm.tallx16.1cm.x12.2cm. and is Sold; the classic Shino is 27.2cm.tallx13cm.x8.3cm. and is Sold. All in perfect condition with signed boxes.
