Chosen-Karatsu Vase by Kikuchi Katsu
We offer our first vase of the year by an potter whose work is also a first to the gallery, Kikuchi Katsu(b. 1972). I first met Kikuchi when he was apprenticing to the late great Nakagawa Jinembo in the early 2000s. He established his own noborigama in 2008 in Oita prefecture. Here is a superbly-fired Chosen-Karatsu vase with ishihaze-stone bursts and a water-fall flowing-like glaze. In perfect condition with a signed box, 24.4cm.tallx12.5.
