Shigaraki Chawan by Tsuji Seimei
Tsuji Seimei(1927-2008) was a ceramic artist who walked with the gods; his work is pure Japanese aesthetics; more about this extremely important potter can be read at e-yakimono.net. His main style over a long career was Shigaraki and here is a classic and A1-firing museum quality Shigaraki chawan. He was truly a brilliant potter and art collector, I remember at his funeral when Hayashiya Seizo was staring at Tsuji's portrait and talked directly to Tsuji, "No one could throw a pot like you." In perfect condition with the original signed box, 9.2cm.tallx12, signed on the side.
