Six Painted-Kohiki Goblets by Kayama Tetsuya
Here are six very special goblets made by Kayama Tetsuya(b.1954.) Kayama is the eldest son of the famed painter Kayama Matazo and he studied in Iga with Banura Shiro after graduating from Tama Art University where he studied Japanese style painting. In 1989 he established his kiln in Oiso, Kanagawa. From Banura he learned kohiki firings–seen on these–and from his father painting; we find red and white plums on two, as well as a rabbit(On Reserve), two butterflies and a dragonfly(On Reserve) on others. Each in perfect condition with a signed box, from 14-16cm.
