Shikure-no-Yume Titled Work by Hayashi Hideyuki
Hayashi Hideyuki (b.1937) is a veteran Kyoto ceramic artist who was a member of Sodeisha from 1964-1998. His works reflect that association and here is a most quirky/metaphorical/engaging work that dates to 1993 titled Shigure no Yume; Shigure refers to drizzling rain and yume is dream. The form is glazed and then has action-painting type iron spots and then there’s the protruding bent nail with a single die; roll it! Hayashi’s works are in the collections of The Japan International Foundation, The, National Museum of Modern Art,Kyoto,The National Museum of Modern Art,Craft Gallry,Tokyo, Los Angeles County Museum of Art, Bertland Museum, Faenza International Ceramics Museum of Art, Canterbury Museum of Art, New South Wales States Museum of Art, among others. In perfect condition with a signed box, 20.6cm.tallx23.2cm.x14.6. stamped and dated on base, Shikure-no-yume original stickers there as well.
