Ishiyama Tetsuya was born in 1973 near Tokyo in Saitama yet has his studio in the ancient potting town of Shigaraki, although he makes *much more* than just Shigaraki ceramic art. His works have been awarded all over Japan: 2014: Paramita Museum Ceramic Grand Prize exhibition. 2013: Shiga Prefecture Cultural Prize, Encouragement Award. Shiga prefecture.Japan. 2010: The 21th Shumei Cultural Foundation Prize: Shumei Cultural Foundation (Miho Museum), Japan Traditional Art Exhibition prize. 2008: The 46th Asahi Ceramic art Exhibition Prize. The 17th Heiwado Foundation Prize. 2006: The 44th Asahi Ceramic Art Exhibition Prize, among others. Works are held at the Miho Museum, Kurokabe Museum, The World Ceramic Center. Korea, Toki-City. and the Takagi Bonsai Museum, among others. Now, the technique, precision, patience and vision on this spiraling inlaid multi-colored work are truly mind-boggling and only very few are made, takes months.
