White Tamba Chawan by Ichino Masahiko

Ichino Masahiko (b.1961) is a leader in today’s ceramic world here in Japan, period. More about him can be read at www.e-yakimono.net Occasionally he fires using ash glazes and this is a rare example of a melting white snow glaze over a rough clay body. A bit of heft in the weight, in perfect condition with a signed box. Ichino had a major retrospective last year the the Museum of Ceramic Art, Hyogo (the long vessel shown here was exhibited there and in the catalog) and now his work is being shown at the Paramita Museum, the cover work a pair to the work aslo seen here: //www.paramitamuseum.com/plan/exhibition.html
