Yakishime-Wood-Fired Jar by Koie Ryoji
The slash marks on all Koie Ryoji’s works are actually the first kanji of his first name–Ryo–incised sideways. One of the greatest-most influential artists ever in Japan, period. Due to illness he’s not potting anymore and this jar dates back about 10 years, there is a slender firing crack around a portion of the base, otherwise in perfect condition with a signed box, the tsubo-jar is 27.2cm.tallx26-27cm.wide.
