Mashiko Henko-Jar by Hamada Shoji
I've hardly ever come across an as shibui Hamada Shoji henko as the one featured here. The way the white trail slip acts as a 'bamboo frame' for the very swiftly drawn sugar millet is simply brilliant; actually the design appears as if it painted itself, so light/natural, it dances. A museum piece of Hamada's of the first order and it comes from a private Tokyo collection. In perfect condition with the original signed box, 22.2cm.tallx15.5x8.5.
