Hakuji Vase/Pot by Uno Toru
Kyoto-based ceramic artist Uno Toru(1935-) is one Kyoto's porcelain masters preceding even Fukami Sueharu. His work had a grace and warmth that delights the senses. He studied with Kano Mitsuo and Kusube Yaichi before establishing his kiln in 1961. He's won many Kyoto art exhibitions awards and is a member of IAC. He's exhibited at Mitsukoshi and Kuroda in Tokyo. This is the second Uno piece I've handled and as noted above, there is a fine artistic sense in glazing, sparse flower design and form here. A fine piece in perfect condition with a signed box,23cm.tall and 22cm.across,stamped on base.
