Large Bizen Nerikomi Platter by Yokoyama Naoki
I've had this platter at my side for sometime now, it's mesmerizing and reminds me of a VanGogh painting. It was made by Yokoyama Naoki(1970-), a Bizen artist we've offered before--and will continue to do so--as he's taking Bizen in new directions by expanding on the nerikomi clay process he learned from Kawabata Fumio. Enjoy the photos for now--one of only two-three such works per firing--of course all different, in perfect condition with a signed box, 6.8cm.tall and 35x35cm wide; also notice the wonderful back and overall fantastic 'clay flavor.'
