Jar / Kako Katsumi
Incised Black Glazed Beige Jar by Kako Katsumi
Kako Katsumi is exploring his art with each new kiln firing; each kiln unloading brings new forms and color schemes. Here is an example of that in a tsubo/jar form with a copper toned clay base over which Kako has dipped on a dark chocolate glaze and white slip of which he's etched in diagonal lines in two bands. It's a very sophisticated tsubo and very pleasing in the overall balance. Aoyama Wahei interviewed Kako and that can be read on e-yakimono.net Kako is a young artist to watch and we're pleased to offer some new works this week and next. In perfect condition with a signed box, 30.0cm.tall and 24.cm.across, signed Katsu, 2005 on base.
