Tamba Saideiki Vase by Ichino Masahiko
We at ey-Net are pleased to present the works of Tamba ceramist Ichino Masahiko, who is currently gaining much attention in the Japanese pottery world for his modern, "urban-istic" Tamba wares. Ichino does not kill the clay flavor by his color scheme; rather, with his white and black mud slip, he accentuates the roughness of the clay. His forming also helps to put the clay flavor to the fore, and his shapes are immediately eye-catching. An important feature that should not be missed is the fact that Ichino takes great care to prevent his works from becoming mere objet d'art or pots for display, for they still retain functionality, whether it be as tokkuri or as flower vases, as this pot vividly illustrates. This vase is 37.5cm tall, 17.5cm wide, 15cm long, comes in perfect condition and comes with a signed box.
