Kuro-Oribe Guinomi by Sasaki Tadashi
Sasaki Tadashi(1922-1997) was one of the outstanding Oribe potters of the 20th century- he was awarded the top prize in 1967 for his Oribe in the prestigious Japan Traditional Arts and Crafts exhibition. He studied with both Kato Hajime and Kato Kobei before establishing his own kiln. This is a classic Kuro-Oribe guinomi by Sasaki, with serene flower underglaze designs and a sublime black glaze that is Sasaki's forte. This piece is 4.9cm tall, 6.5cm wide, comes with a signed box and is in perfect condition.
