Seto Daruma by Masuda Shigeyuki
I got goose-bumps when this Daruma 'found me,' what a figure. It has a classic Seto finely crackled glaze and then that very delightful face, we stared each other down for 'ages.' It was made by Seto veteran ceramic artist Masuda Shigeyuki(1927-) and he's been making figures for decades. He started his career in 1952 and has exhibited all over Japan as well as creating some works at the Smithsonian in Washington, D.C. last year. This Daruma is in perfect condition with a signed box and is quite tall at 25.0cm.
