Vessel / Mihara Ken
Sekki Vessel by Mihara Ken
Two Mihara Ken works are included in the ongoing "The Legacy of Modern Ceramic Art -- Part 1: From Artisan to Artist, The Evolution of Japanese Ceramic Art" at the new Modern Ceramic Museum, Gifu. A brief review of the exhibit can be read at www.e-yakimono.net Here is another original Mihara form using his Shimane clay which he does not glaze but allows for the 'clay flavor' to speak. The piece rises up in three stages and takes with it the viewers spirit---delightful. A Mihara work was recently acquired by a USA museum and I can only see his fortunes rising---now is the time. In perfect condition with a signed box, 26.2cm. tall, 29.0cm.across, and 13.7cm.deep, stamped on base. For more about Mihara and sekki please see other listings or visit www.e-yakimono.net
