Oribe Double-Block Vases by Hatano Masanori--Previews
Hatano Masanori(b.1957) is a veteran Seto ceramic artist with a long exhibition career and various awards such as the Pottery Encouragement Prize at the Asahi Ceramic Art Exhibition and Encouragement Prize at the Chunichi International Exhibition of Ceramic Arts in 1987, the Excellent Work Prize at the Asahi Ceramic Art Exhibition in 2004 among others as well as being exhibited at numerous juried exhibitions. Robert has seen his work at these various exhibitions and this is the first time to offer a variety at our gallery. Here are two Oribe vases with twisting attached blocks that give this vase a very sculptural facade. White lines accentuate the overall textured forms and add a pleasing contrast to the emerald Oribe tones. Each in perfect condition with signed boxes, the left is 28.3cm.tallx10.3 and the right is 24.5cm.tallx12, signed on base.
