In this case ko doesn't mean old it means small, and these small tokkuri-sake flasks were first made in the 16th century. That's where Harada Shuroku draws much inspiration for his Bizen creations, as many know. More about this important ceramic artist in our archives or at www.e-yakimono.net. This shibui piece is perfect for some late night sipping, it dates back about twenty years, there are a few nicks on the base yet these are not visible when sitting.
