Mashiko Plate by Hamada Shoji-Kiln
Here is a handsome Mashiko plate that is a collaboration between Hamada Shoji and his skilled craftsman; the plate was thrown by one and then Hamada glazed and drew his trademark sugar-can motif in iron underglaze. He then signed the box himself with the Mongama stamp. We also acquired a sake set with the same box, yet all of these works were thrown, glazed and decorated by Hamada; spoke with the Hamada family over the weekend to confirm that. The plate is 5cm.tallx20.5cm.wide.
