The aura around this Bizen jar is pure 16th century Momoyama and from across the room one can easily mistake it for a masterpiece from that period. Even in the hands it appears old, ageless shibui beauty in spades. Perfect for flowers---some folks have been known to takes baths with such works--or simply to gaze upon as a deep visual haiku; it's the work of Osawa Tsuneo who truly---like Abe Anjin, Harada Shuroku and Mori Togaku--brings the spirit of Ko-Bizen into the present. In perfect condition, 18.2cm.tallx20, signed on base and with a signed box.
