8th-9th Century Heian Sueki Flask from the Abe Hitoshi Collection/Previews
Potter and gourmet chef Abe Hitoshi has allowed me to offer a few works from his private collection; a photo of Abe and more about him can be read here: http://www.e-yakimono.net/html/abe-hitoshi-er.html This is a small and rare early Heian Period (794-1185) small sake flask in a simple elegant form and a monotone gray body. There is a small chip on the lip, yet otherwise in excellent condition; 10.3cm.tall with an unsigned box that either Abe can sign in Japanese or Robert in English. Other works from Abe's collection are also previewed and additional photos and details gladly sent upon request come Monday.
