Mashiko Ash-Glazed Jomon Tokkuri by Shimaoka Tatsuzo
Here is a very handsome ash-glazed jomon tokkuri-flask by the late Living National Treasure Shimaoka Tatsuzo (1919-2007). It has a paddled form that is a joy to hold and the ladled glazing is rare on this form; the olive green glaze creates a swirling pattern that flows over the shoulder on the front and back. In perfect condition with a signed box, 13.3cm.tallx10.3x8.6, stamped on base.
