Crackled Celadon Bowl by Furukawa Toshio
In the 1993 exhibition and catalog of 'Modern Japanese Ceramics in American Collections' held at the Japan Society in New York was shown a very similar crackled celadon bowl by Furukawa Toshio(b.1949, in the catalog no.60, photo shown here). The thickly crackled layers of celadon are a wonder to gaze upon and for decades now Furukawa--based in Kyoto--has created celadon of the first order; he established his own kiln in 1975. Larger in life then the photos hint at, in perfect condition with a signed box, 11.2cm.tallx36.3, stamped on base.
