Important Bizen Mizusashi by Mori Togaku
In the spring of 1990 Mori Togaku had a major exhibition at Mitsukoshi, Tokyo for his 2nd O-gama firing (large kiln, Mori's being 53-meters long) that was lit the previous Sept., the firing was stopped in Nov., and the unloading began in Jan. of 1990; the exhibition was a major success. The exhibition catalog even sold out in the first few hours. In that now legendary exhibition there was one--just one--eared mizusashi exhibited and this is it. Of course Mori selected this one to be *the representative* eared mizusashi and it shows a confident-strong form along with an exquisite goma covering over the very warm 'clay flavor;' the inside shows a hidasuki covering. An important Mori mizusashi in perfect condition with a signed box, 17cm.tallx16.2, signed on base and copies of the catalog along with the exhibition price list will be included. If we can find a catalog we'll surely include one or send in time......
