Large Bizen Henko-Jar by Wakimoto Hiroyuki/Previews
There is a mystical, almost spooky aura that surrounds this large Bizen jar by Wakimoto Hiroyuki. It was recently fired and I selected it, along with the previewed works here, from Wakimoto's once-a-year only firing. A haunting work with superb Bizen firing characteristics; a museum piece in perfect condition with a signed box, 49.2cm.tallx32.5x38.5, signed on base, 13kg. Wakimoto, as many know, is an award-winning Bizen artist whose sculptural and functional works are avidly collected here in Japan.
