Shino Vase by Kato YasukageXIV
Before celebrated Mino ceramic artist Kato Yasukage XIV (b.1964) was known by his current name he worked as Shoji, his birth name. In 2001 he became the 14th master of his family's illustrious pottery and took the name Yasukage; all his ancestors had -kage somewhere in their names. This bamboo form eared vase dates to his Shoji years and more specifically 1999. The beautiful Shino glaze in autumn reds and oranges is a Kato original 'recipe.' A very lovely vase in perfect condition with a signed box, 30.3cm.tallx16cm.at base, signed on base.
