Tokkuri-Sake Flask / Bizen / Bizen / Kakurezaki Ryuichi
Bizen Hidasuki Tokkuri-Sake Flask by Kakurezaki Ryuichi
Two very neat hidasuki pieces offered today; hidasuki being a major Bizen style where rice straw is wrapped around a pot before firing and burns off in the kiln to create wispy streaks and whole areas of red-orange lines and tones. This is a not oft seen square tokkuri by Kakurezaki Ryuichi that dates to the late 1990s and the hidasuki firing is seen from the lip to the base and perfectly contrasts with the clay tones. In perfect condition with a signed box, 14cm.tallx7-9cm. signed on base.
