Bizen Mizusashi by Mori Yasushi
Here is an unusual spouted (katakuchi) hidasuki (rice cord orange-red markings) lacquer-lidded mizusashi by veteran Bizen potter Mori Yasushi(b.1947). Mori was born in Bizen central and established his own kiln in 1968, He's had a very successful career ever since, although his name is not well-known outside of Japan. Take off the lid and the piece can be used for flowers or as a wine cooler as well; the firing and hidasuki are A1. In perfect condition with a signed box, 20cm.tall with lid on x 23.5 from tip of spout to back, signed on base.
