Twelve-Sided Celadon Plate by Minegishi Seiko/Previews
Minegishi Seiko(b.1952) is surely one of Japan's most accomplished celadon ceramic artists. His celadon work, along with maybe four or five others, ranks at the top of Japan for this extremely difficult style. A good interview--along with more info on linked pages at the bottom--can be read on our information web site here: http://www.e-yakimono.net/html/minegishi-seiko-interview.html I recently visited this hermit-artist (he lives deep in the countryside with only one house nearby) and selected six works. The first is an exquisite twelve-sided deep olive-green crackled plate. It's 3.5cm.tallx24.4, stamped on base and with a signed box. Other works to be listed soon, previews of any on request.
