Oni-Soto Fuku-Uchi Old Bizen Sweets Dish
Oni-Soto Fuku-Uchi (Devil out good luck in!) is a saying used during the Setsubun Festival in Japan held in February. Here is a visual representation of that in a late Edo-early Meiji Bizen sweets dish-kashibachi. The animated figures were superbly executed; the firing is simple with traces of hidasuki rice straw. There are two firing cracks-hairlines on the lip (inside at '12 and 1 o'clock) that have been repaired and do not detract from the piece in the least. With an old signed box, 3.5cm.tallx17.
