Ogawa Machiko(b.1946), as many know, is one of Japan's most important and award-winning women ceramic artists, recently being awarded at the Musee Tomo's Tea Exhibition where her chawan graces the cover of the exhibition catalog. We have two Ogawa chawan and here is the first, a Hagi-like crackled glaze that contrasts brilliantly with the stone-flecked clay; a delight to hold. In perfect condition with a signed box, 8.5-9cm.tallx14x13, slight oval form. The second chawan is snow white and also a delight; same price.
