In 2009 there was a an exhibition at the Paramita Museum titled 'Women Ceramic Artists Who Bear the 21st Century' and shown in that exhibition was this piece by Tanaka Tomomi(b.1983). Tanaka is a rising star in Japan whose works have also been shown in important juried exhibitions such as the 2006 Asahi Ceramic Exhibition where she was awarded, and in the 2007 Chozo Contemporary Ceramic Art exhibition, among others. This very engaging work evokes shells, feathers and lovers entwined; with every turn the temperament changes. It's 18cm.tallx44cm.longx36cm.deep, a small unseen firing crack is on the base and one petal also have a teeny firing crack, otherwise in perfect condition with a signed box, less if not needed.
