Ornamental Rectangular Porcelain Box by Tanaka Masako
I recently met local ceramic artist Tanaka Masako(b.1975) and was very taken with her and her porcelain works. The first piece she showed me was this patterned box and I found it quite attractive indeed, in the vein of Tomimoto Kenkichi. Tanaka studied under porcelain specialist Nakashima Toyohiko and has since had exhibitions at Mitsukoski, Ikebukuro in Tokyo and Isetan, Shizuoka. We also have one of her plates shown here as well, that is 4.8cm.tallx14 and also 35,000 yen. The box here is 8cm.tallx22.6x7.6, signed under the lid and with a signed box, if no signed box is needed the price is 2,000 yen less.
