Nezumi-Shino 'Picture Frame' Serving Platter by Kato Shunji

Kato Shunji (1892-1979) was a celebrated Seto potter who in 1975 was designated an Aichi Prefectural Intangible Cultural Property for his superb Seto wares, that include Oribe, Ko-Seto and Shino. Here is a classic Nezumi(Bluish-Gray)-Shino 'picture frame' shallow serving vessel that depicts autumn grasses and reeds. In perfect condition with a signed box, 5cm.tallx23.5x20.7, stamped on base.
