Two Platinum-Glazed Kogo-Incense Cases by Ogawa Machiko
Ogawa Machiko has not made kogo-incense cases for the last twenty years, yet she made some this year and we offer two here. They are solid and monumental in their small sizes, each having a unique and rugged topography. The one on the left in the first photo is 9.5cm.tallx8 and is on reserve with a signed box; the right one is 6.5cm.tallx9x6.5 and is 80,000 yen with a signed box. At the National Museum of Modern Art, Crafts Gallery, Tokyo's current Tea Vessels Exhibition there is an Ogawa kogo on display.
