Yuteki Tenmoku Jar by Sasaki Yuzuru
The wonders of glazes truly dazzles the senses; in the orient the magic of glazes has been known and revered for centuries, Sasaki Yuzuru carries on in that tradition of creating magical glazes. I've never quite seen a yuteki tenmoku piece embellished with sulfur-like clouds that add a haunting-engaging aura to the classic jar form. In perfect condition with a signed box, 26cm.tallx18cm.stamped on base. Sasaki (b.1949) has been making such Tenmoku pieces since the early 1970s when he studied-worked with Kimura Morikazu--1971-79--and then established his own kiln in 1979; for fans of tenmoku he is one of the best-original in Japan today. EMS included.
