Hagi Guinomi by Hatano Hideo
Here is a lovely Hagi sake cup-guinomi by Hatano Hideo(b.1971) that shows a warm-inviting buff glaze that the Hatano family is famous for; Hideo's father is Yamaguchi Prefectural Intangible Property Hatano Zenzo. Hideo has already had quite a successful career showing at Mitsukoshi in Tokyo as well as the juried Tanabe Museum's Contemporary Tea Forms Exhibition (six times) and the Japan Traditional Arts and Crafts Exhibition (nine times). The oval form on this guinomi is also inviting as it fits snugly in the curve of the hand. In perfect condition with a signed box, 3.5cm.tallx8.2x7.5, stamped on base.
