Silver Stoneware 'Boat' Form Vessel by Ogawa Machiko
The contrast of stoneware-clay and radiant silver is quite engaging on this boat-shaped vessel by Ogawa Machiko(b.1946). Ogawa, as many know, is one of Japan's most important and award-winning women ceramic artists, recently being awarded at the fabulous 'Musee Tomo Prize: Contemporary Ceramics for the Tea Ceremony--Free Creativity and Atypical Usage' in Tokyo.This vessel was recently created and has a complex silver glazing pattern within and a gray stoneware facade on the outside. In perfect condition with a signed box, 9cm.tallx57x14. (If no box is needed a bit less.)
