Black Karatsu Kutsu-Gata Guinomi by Kawakami Kiyomi
Along with Maruta, Kawakami Kiyomi (b.1948) is one of Japan's leading and most popular Karatsu ceramic artists. There are about eight different styles of Karatsu, of which one is the not oft-seen Black Karatsu(Kuro-garatsu). Here is a Kawakami black Karatsu guinomi in a shoe-shape (kutsu-gata) form with some ash highlights along the lip and some superb 'clay flavor' underside; perfect for cloudy-nigori sake; in perfect condition with a signed box, 4.8cm.tallx9x7, signed on base.
