Hagi Miwa Kazuhiko and Kudo Shigeki Lacquer Sake Box Set
A very limited set of two Hagi guinomi sake cups by important Hagi ceramic artist Miwa Kakuhiko housed in a specially made lacquer box by Kudo Shigeki; only four sets in existence. Miwa's works are world renowned and in many museum and private collections here in Japan and worldwide. Miwa first sent the two 'mythical' guinomi to Kudo who then custom-carved the box to fit each like a glove. The box is a work of art alone--of course--with an ancient feel contrasting the rough front and back with the polished sides Kudo's box is 10cm.tallx25.5cm.x10 and Miwa's angelic Hagi guinomi are 6.7cm.tall and 7cm.tall, signed box.
