Abe Anjin is one of Bizen's most respected and important potters today; he, along with Harada Shuroku and Mori Togaku, create Bizen today that embodies the spirit of 16th Century classic Bizen; more about Abe can be read here and in articles found in the links at the bottom: http://www.e-yakimono.net/html/anjin-abe.html This tall o-azuke tokkuri---meant to hold extra sake for a kaiseki meal--was exhibited at Abe's Hiroshima Sogo Department Store Art Gallery exhibition in 1991. It has a full ripe form with a fine firing of goma-sesame and also white thread goma; very shibui indeed. In perfect condition with a signed box, 17cm.tall, stamped on base.
