Shigaraki Mizusashi by Kanzaki Shiho
On my recent visit to Shigaraki I also visited the studio and temple of Kanzaki Shiho and selected 20 works (jars, chaire, chawan, shuki, kogo, vases); please look for them all tomorrow in the exhibition page on the gallery. Only one mizusashi was chosen and here it is; organic form as if grown from a forest floor, stunning natural ash-glazing--as Kanzaki is renowned for--that also deliciously matches the deep, rich 'clay flavor.'
