This is an important mixed-media work by renowned Kyoto ceramic artist Takiguchi Kazuo. It was featured in the major deluxe eight book series Nihon no Toji, Volume 8 (Volume 8 also highlighted the works of Mori Togaku, Ito Motohiko, Ito Sekisui(LNT), Nakajima Hiroshi(LNT), Kaneshige Kousuke, Kuriki Tatsusuke, Wada Morihiro, Ogawa Machiko, Maeda Masahiro, Raku KichizaemonXV, and Kawase Shinobu--we can get a copy of the book for 70,000 yen, or 200,000 yen for the entire series.) This Takiguchi was also shown at en exhibition in Tokyo in 1993 and that small catalog--showing many artists--will be included. In perfect condition with a signed box and the metal base, 24.3cm.tallx38.8x25.3. Takiguchi(b.1953) is one of the most interesting and important Kyoto ceramic artists of the past 20 years. His original forms, delicious glazing and deftly painted smaller works have earned him a slew of awards and a large following here in Japan, as well as around the world.
