Shimaoka Tatsuzo created many designs on his famous square vases over the years, yet in looking through catalogs I found very few with a hakeme-iron design such as this one. The randomly painted iron swipes seem to float out over the hakeme-white slip brushed background; a very neat effect. In perfect condition with a signed box, 17.7cm.tallx9x8.7, stamped on base.
