Bizen Vase-Tokkuri by Harada Shuroku
This Harada Shuroku tokkuri-single bud vase reminds me once again as to why I love Bizen and especially Harada's work. The crane's neck tsurukubi form is very traditional except for the dimpled base; the firing is a magical blend of hidasuki orange cord markings set against the blue Bizen body with some 16th century Muromachi-esque goma on the base; a top-notch piece by the master. In perfect condition with a signed box, 18cm.tall, signed on base.
