Tokkuri / Shigaraki / Furutani Michio
Shigaraki Tokkuri by Furutani Michio
A few years before he left us, I wrote this column about Furutani Michio (1946-2000) for a Japan Times article: e-yakimono.net/html/furutani-michio.html Furutani was a superb potter and a fine person as well; he is sadly missed, yet his son Kazuya carries on in the Furutani way. This Michio tokkuri has his refined and elegant form, super-superb firing and classic Shigaraki characteristics; Furutani as such placed it in a very high-quality signed box. In perfect condition, standing 14.5cm.tall, signed on base.
