Mashiko Jar by Murata Gen
Here is a very neat Mashiko jar by the late great Murata Gen (1904-1988); please see photos of his retrospective exhibition at the Mashiko Ceramic Art Museum at e-yakimono.net This jar displays all Murata's known trademarks; flat-rounded jar form along with dynamic glazing schemes, here in nuka and iron tones that turn to an olive green over parts of the body. The base is bold and within it can be seen Murata's diamond sign with 'mu' written inside. In perfect condition, late 60's-early 70's, 23.5cm.tallx20.5x17.6, no box and thus a lower price; a box can be ordered and signed by Robert for extra if desired.
