Black Bizen Chawan by Kakurezaki Ryuichi
In September I went to Kakurezaki's to select works and they finally arrived; we'll have most to view next week and we start with the only chawan. It has an ancient feel, not in a chawan way, yet of something simply born from the earth; the form is thoroughly Kakurezaki's and the firing is truly of the first order. It has some heft in the hands, also notice the kodai-foot, sublime. In perfect condition with a signed box, 9.5cm.tallx15.4x12.3, signed on base. This is a rare case where we ask folks to email for the price as Kakurezaki's request.
